As we age, we tend to need more help and assistance from loved ones and our community. John Muir Health provides several programs and services to help seniors and their loved ones get the resources and help they need to maintain an independent, optimal quality of life. Programs include:

- Medication Assistance Program
- Senior Services
- Senior Transportation Program
- Transforming Chronic Care
Highlights
- In 2010, 215 active Caring Hands volunteers provided services to 259 seniors
- Eight percent of the seniors were Hispanic and served through the Hispanic Outreach component of Caring Hands
- 50 percent of seniors served reported an increase in social interaction as a result of Caring Hands services
- 83 percent of seniors served perceive their quality of life as “good” or “excellent” after participating in Caring Hands
