Stocks/Securities

We accept gifts of bonds, publicly traded stocks, and closely held stock.  These gifts may offer significant tax advantages, and transactions are easily arranged.

Property

You can give property such as real estate and other assets. These gifts and other gifts-in-kind provide tax advantages but may require independent appraisals to meet IRS guidelines.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations will match the philanthropic contributions of their employees and other eligible individuals (officer, board member, retiree, spouse) to a not-for-profit healthcare organization. Consult your human resources department for more information.

Estate Gifts

By remembering John Muir Health with a bequest in your will, you can have a long-lasting impact on medical care in our community. Your bequest may qualify for an estate tax charitable deduction. When making a bequest, we urge you to consult with your attorney and other advisors, as well as the staff of John Muir Health Foundation.

Charitable Trusts

These planned gifts can provide a wide range of benefits to you, your loved ones, and John Muir Health. For example, charitable remainder trusts and pooled income trusts provide income for life for the donor and/or other beneficiary in addition to estate tax deductions.
