Student Opportunities - HOSA

Student Opportunities, HOSA

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is a national, professional organization for high school and college students interested in a health care career

John Muir Health's HOSA program teaches professional behavior and leadership skills. It also offers opportunities for students to participate in community service activities and provides information about health care careers. John Muir Health HOSA is a professional organization with by-laws, officers, dues and a dress code. HOSA members in good standing have the opportunity to apply for HOSA scholarships. HOSA membership looks great on your resume, college or job application.

The John Muir Health chapter of HOSA meets every week at John Muir Medical Center-Concord Campus. Applications will be accepted from September to December each year. John Muir Health HOSA provides guest speakers and tours of our facilities. John Muir Health HOSA members have the opportunity to attend the Cal-HOSA Regional Leadership Conference held in the fall and the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference held each spring. As part of the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference, the students compete in various health care events. Those who win gold, silver or bronze at the State Conference have the opportunity to attend the National Conference and compete against thousands of other HOSA Members across the Nation in their winning event.
