John Muir Health is a not-for-profit organization that has a community-based approach to healthcare that is reflected in its broad presence throughout Contra Costa County and portions of Solano County. Offering a wide array of clinical services at its medical centers in Walnut Creek and Concord, John Muir Health also has outpatient centers in Brentwood and Rossmoor, the Behavioral Health Center in Concord, numerous laboratory sites, and an extensive physician network with more than 800 physicians and some 80,000 enrollees.
The organization that was formed after the merging of two Medical Centers has been successful because the two original entities each brought excellent clinicians, advanced technologies, and a culture of innovation that has helped us grow into a regional leader in many medical disciplines. Our commitment to innovative and advanced medical care at John Muir Health is complemented by our strong culture of patient care and patient satisfaction. We believe this reflects the original entities' shared roots as community-based hospitals. We know it is why today the employees, affiliated physicians and volunteers of John Muir Health continuously seek to exceed patient expectations.
At John Muir Health we take pride in the fact that as a team, our focus has always been on quality, safety and exceptional service. And, we are pleased that not only does our local community acknowledge our excellence as a high-quality healthcare provider, but so do numerous national organizations. All of us at John Muir Health are striving to exceed our own expectations every day.
John Muir Health is pleased to report to our community that 2006 was financially gratifying for the organization. As a not-for-profit organization, John Muir Health treats every patient, regardless of his or her ability to pay. And by the very nature of our not-for-profit status, the John Muir Health reinvests its financial surplus into new program development, equipment purchase, building projects and community services.
