For asymptomatic individuals, there is currently no routine screening test for bladder cancer. However, even before symptoms appear, bladder cancer is sometimes discovered "incidentally" when routine urinalysis reveals microscopic blood in the urine.

Patients at high risk for bladder cancer should discuss with their physician whether ongoing monitoring is warranted. Regardless of any surveillance schedule your physician has established, do not delay seeking medical advice if you should experience any of symptoms.
