Testicular cancer is most common in men ages 15-35. However, the exact cause of testicular cancer remains unknown. To date, no correlation has been found between any particular lifestyle or environmental factors and the development of testicular cancer. There is some evidence that the risk of testicular cancer is elevated in men with a history of undescended testicles (or cryptorchidism), a condition in which the testicles fail to descend normally from the lower abdomen into the scrotum by the age of three. A personal or family history of testicular cancer may also increase the chances of developing the disease. For unknown reasons, Caucasian men have a significantly higher risk of developing testicular cancer than other ethnic groups.
