5-month RN Residency Programs to be offered on
July 28, 2008 for Concord and August 4, 2008 for Walnut Creek

At John Muir Health, we're committed to our nursing staff's success. To that end, we are pleased to announce our upcoming RN Residency training programs at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, that will provide you with the knowledge, tools and support you need to ease the transition from student to nurse - and start your career off on the right foot. This comprehensive 5 month program - the only one in Contra Costa County - offers a highly focused and personalized learning experience. Once you successfully complete this paid internship, you'll be qualified to work as a professional RN at John Muir Health.

Hands-On Learning

Your Preceptors are seasoned, unit-based RNs who will work one-on-one with you, imparting technical and clinical knowledge, and helping develop clinical decision-making skills. Count on approximately 650 hours of intense learning.

Quality of Education

Highly qualified nurses and health care professionals will steer you through approximately 100 hours of Classroom and Skills Lab Education.

Skilled Navigators

Dedicated Individual Mentors will support and guide you through the complexities of the nursing practice. You'll hone your critical thinking and communication skills.

Safe Environment

Support/Self-care Meetings are led by expert facilitators in a confidential environment where you can share experiences and develop tactics to deal with stress.

Related Units

Individualized Rotations during your 5-month residency will familiarize you with areas related to your "home unit." Our new residency program is based on Versant's successful program at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, as well as those at six other pediatric hospitals.
