- Are there any New Grad Openings, and when does the RN Residency Program start?
On October 2, 2009 we posted our New Grad RN Residency positions for our February/March 2010 program. As a result of the significant applicant response, the application period has been closed for this particular program.
- JMMC Walnut Creek- Applications are being reviewed, and select candidates will be contacted by phone for interviews. As of November 4, 2009, we anticipate having 11 positions at the JMMC Walnut Creek campus; 9 in Medical/Surgical units and 2 in the Progressive Care unit.
- JMMC Concord - The February 22, 2010 New Grad RN Residency Program at the Concord Campus has been canceled.
Our next New Grad RN Residency Program is scheduled for July/August 2010, and we anticipate having positions at both the JMMC Concord and Walnut Creek campuses. We plan on posting these positions in early spring 2010. In the interim, we encourage interested applicants to set up a Job Agent for these positions via our Careers site to receive e-mail alerts when the positions become available. - How often are the job postings updated on the Web site?
The job postings are maintained and updated by our recruitment team on a daily basis. We encourage you to check back each week to search for new job opportunities with John Muir Health. You may also contact our JobLine at 1-877-215-6151. The job line is a recorded message of our current openings, and it is also updated. Jobs openings are posted within 48 hours.
- What happens to my resume when I submit it online?
Your resume and contact information are sent online directly to the recruiter handling the job for which you applied. The recruiter then reviews your qualifications, and works closely with hiring managers to determine whether you should be further considered for employment. Selected candidates will be asked to interview with the HR recruiter and possibly with the hiring manager.

- If I'm interested in a position that is not currently posted, can I set up a search agent so I'm notified when it is posted?
Yes. You must be a registered applicant to use this feature. On the Careers page, click the link that says "Log In Now". On the Applicant Login page, enter your User Name and Password and click the "Login" button. If you have not previously set up a job agent, click on the "Set up job agent now!" link on the Home tab. You can choose up to 60 jobs that you are interested in hearing about when there are future openings. After you have made your selections, click the "Submit" button. If you have already set up a job agent, choose the "Job Agent" tab to manage you agent. You can edit your Jobs of Interest by clicking on the "Edit" link.
- How do I check on the status of my application?
You can check on your application at any time by clicking on the "Log In" button on the Job Search page of the Careers website. Once logged in, you can check the status of any applications you have submitted by choosing the "Application History" tab.
- What's the quickest way to check current job opportunities at John Muir Health?
Please visit the Careers Page of the John Muir Health Web site, where you can review our list of openings and complete and submit an online application form.
- Will I be notified regarding the status of my resume submission?
An e-mail response will be sent to you acknowledging receipt of your application after you submit it. Should there be a match with your qualifications and our employment needs, a recruiter will contact you directly.

- What's the professional dress for the organization?
Given the professional healthcare services we provide to our community, our employees are asked to be neat, clean and appropriately dressed for their position and working environment. While departments may have specific policies regarding dress for their department, there are several general guidelines for dress, including:
- Employees having contact with patients or visitors must refrain from the use of perfumes, perfumed body lotion or other substances emitting fragrance.
- Body jewelry that is visible to patients, coworkers and others, such as nose rings or any other jewelry inserted in body parts other than ears is not acceptable.
- Tattoos must be covered.
