John Muir Physician Network Clinical Research Center is part of the John Muir Physician Network, which is comprised of John Muir Medical Group, a group of nearly 100 primary care providers and John Muir Medical Group, an independent practice association of over 600 primary care physicians and specialists. The Physician Network is a subsidiary of John Muir Health, a recognized leader in providing quality medical care in the San Francisco/Bay Area.
John Muir Physician Network Clinical Research Center has completed over 250 clinical trials for the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry. John Muir Physician Network Clinical Research Center focuses on Phase II, III & IV clinical trials. We provide rapid enrollment, high data integrity, as well as compassionate and quality care to our research subjects. Our Research Medical Director, Roy A. Kaplan, M.D., board-certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, is also a Certified Principal Investigator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Five of the clinical coordinators are also certified by ACRP.
We have extensive primary research experience in diabetes mellitus and its complications and other endocrine metabolic disorders such as obesity. We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our research focus into other therapeutic areas and to support this initiative, have contracted with Principal Investigators in the areas of cardiovascular care, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology and urology. To date, we have conducted studies with patients diagnosed with hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, psoriasis, GERD, IBS, Parkinson's disease, BPH, and erectile dysfunction. Additionally, our focus has expanded to include participation in more than 10 device studies for both invasive and noninvasive glucose monitors, glucose sensors, HBA1c testing and lipid measuring devices.
Our ability to recruit patients is strong having access to the patients from over 700 private practices of the John Muir Physician Network, our extensive and comprehensive research database, highly-developed referral network plus the use of highly effective marketing vehicles of the internet, newspaper and radio. Our convenient and easily accessible location in the San Francisco East Bay enables us to successfully recruit from a broad geographic region.
