As a member of the John Muir Physician Network, you are encouraged to take advantage of the many classes, support groups and health screenings made available from John Muir Health (some require additional fees). Catalogs describing upcoming events are mailed to area households throughout the year. See current information regarding upcoming classes, special events, or ongoing support groups.

The following are examples of the services we offer:

Mammograms: an X-ray test that uses a very low dose of radiation to find lumps or abnormal areas in the breast, can detect small cancers years before they are palpable. It is recommended that women have their first mammogram at age 40 and annually thereafter.

Cholesterol Testing: a simple blood screening to determine cholesterol levels.

Immunizations: check with your physician for your appropriate immunization schedule.

Colon Cancer Screening: this test is to detect cancers.

PSA: it is estimated that 1 out of every 10 men will develop prostate cancer at some point in his life. Men over 50 (or younger men with one or more risk factors) are recommended to undergo annual prostate cancer screenings and seek medical help. When left untreated, prostate cancer can spread to the bone and organs.

Well Woman Exam: it is recommended to have a pap smear and external breast exam annually.

Glaucoma Screening: this test is to detect glaucoma before there is significant loss of vision.

Hypertension Screening: a routine measurement of blood pressure in individuals 18 years and older.

Diabetes Maintenance: education is provided to better manage this disease.
