John Muir Physician Network
We are delighted to welcome you to the John Muir Physician Network. The John Muir Physician Network is not an insurance company or a health plan. Rather, we are a not-for-profit Medical Foundation, part of John Muir Health. Since its inception in 1996, it is one of the fastest growing physician groups in the Bay Area, with more than 800 physicians. Physicians associated with the John Muir Physician Network belong to either the John Muir Medical Group or the Muir Medical Group, IPA. These physicians accept all HMO and most PPO insurance plans, as well as Medicare.
The John Muir Physician Network owns and operates close to 100 physician practices staffed by the John Muir Medical Group in 20 locations from Brentwood to San Ramon. The Muir Medical Group IPA is a panel of primary care physicians and specialists with offices throughout Contra Costa and parts of southern Solano and southern Alameda counties.
The John Muir Physician Network was recently recognized for "outstanding overall performance demonstrating quality patient care in Pay for Performance (P4P)" by the Integrated Healthcare Association. Pay for performance is an initiative which rewards physicians, hospitals, medical groups, and other healthcare providers for meeting certain performance measures for quality and efficiency.

John Muir Medical Group
The John Muir Medical Group is a group of over 100 primary care physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners located in over 24 sites throughout Contra Costa and Alameda County. It is composed of pediatricians, family practitioners and internal medicine physicians providing primary care services to John Muir Physician Network patients.
This group is the exclusive provider of urgent care services for John Muir Health and, in conjunction with the John Muir Physician Network, operates four conveniently located urgent care centers in Contra Costa County. The John Muir Medical Group also has physicians known as hospitalists that provide in-hospital medical care at both John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus, and John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus.
In addition to their office practices, this group provides professional services for the John Muir Osteoporosis Center, the Mobile Health Clinic, Metabolic Nutrition Program and the John Muir Physician Network Clinical Research Center. The John Muir Medical Group physicians have diverse clinical interests including acupuncture, sports medicine and women's health.
The John Muir Medical Group physicians and staff are dedicated to improving the health of the patients they serve with quality and compassion and to be recognized as a quality leader among California medical groups.
Muir Medical Group, IPA, Inc.
Muir Medical Group, IPA, Inc. (IPA) is a group of independent primary care and specialty care providers who have joined together to provide medical services to HMO enrollees who have selected John Muir Physician Network as their medical group and Network Select enrollees through the John Muir Health system.
Muir Medical Group, IPA is one of the largest IPA's in the area serving Contra Costa County, parts of Alameda and Solano counties. The IPA has over 175 Primary Care Physicians and a large multi-specialty physician panel. The majority of the physicians who participate in the IPA provide services at the John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek and Concord campuses.
The IPA also provides other professional services in the areas of Hospitalist services; After Hours Pediatric Care, as well as a wide array of ancillary services.
The IPA consistently works with their physician practices to implement new technological innovations. These innovations include electronic medical records that interface with hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories in providing patients with expedient medical care.
