Definition:

A brain tumor is a mass of unnecessary, and abnormal, cells growing in the brain.

Brain tumors are usually described as:

• Benign: (very slow growing cells, usually having distinct borders and rarely spread)

or

• Malignant: (life-threatening, invasive, and usually either rapid or slow growing. Often called Brain Cancer.)

Examples of types of brain tumors include:

Glioblastoma, astrocytoma, medulloblastoma, metastatic and ependymoma
