The John Muir Health Center in Walnut Creek hosted a meet-and-greet Tuesday to introduce a new member of its surgical team: The daVinci robotic Surgical System. Billed as the latest in minimally invasive surgery technology, surgeons operate the machine via a console, allowing for extremely precise, tremor-free operations. The new machine is the second purchased via financial support of the John Muir Health Foundation both the Concord and Walnut Creek John Muir campus now use the machine for procedures involving bladder, colorectal, kidney and prostate cancers.
