Diabetes Awareness Month Seminar

FREE EVENING SEMINAR
"Diabetes Dialogue: Hope for the Future"
The impact of managing diabetes can require significant lifestyle changes for those with diabetes. This program provides information about how diabetes affects not only the physical but also the psycho-social aspects of someone's life. Diabetes is a self-managed disease that has many challenges and this program will help address the issues associated with living with diabetes.
Speakers:- During a pre-recorded videotaped conference, Phylicia Rashad., well-known television personality will host the program, and William Polonsky, CDE, Ph.D., will address the challenges and frustrations of managing diabetes for patients and their families and offer simple strategies to overcome diabetes burnout.
- Douglas Zlock, M.D., endocrinologist and medical director of the John Muir Diabetes Center, will discuss The Metabolic Syndrome.
- John Muir Diabetes Center staff and Medical Director will participate in a question and answer panel discussion.
- Educational materials, healthy refreshments and vendors displaying the newest technology as well as current research studies will be available
