Dr. Ed Becker has practiced Dermatology in Walnut Creek since1980. He was born in New York and educated at Boston University for his undergraduate and Medical Doctorate. Following medical school, he did an Internship in Pediatrics, followed by an Internship in Dermatology, both in Boston. He then came to San Francisco to do his Dermatology Residency at the University of California, San Francisco and settled in the Bay Area.
In the past few years, Dr. Becker has become involved in a statewide Patient- Experience Collaborative for Doctor-Patient communication, with the goal of seeking to provide patients the care and information they need and want in a timely manner. "We want our patients to feel that they are listened to, respected, treated warmly, and appreciated as well as understand the information we provide them so that they can have better outcomes for their dermatologic problems." Dr. Becker has always strived to be perfect in his work, but this Collaborative has inspired him to strive for even better relationships and communication with his patients, all of which can only make his contribution to the community stronger than ever. The overall goal of this Collaborative is to have all of our providers follow the example of Dr. Becker and renew their interest in effective communication.
Paul Nottingham, M.D. has been practicing in the San Francisco East Bay Area since 1989. He is a fellowshiptrained, board-certified adult spine surgeon and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Nottingham's surgical expertise includes degenerative conditions, deformity, neoplastic and infectious processes involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He is a former Chief of Staff at Mt. Diablo Medical Center and is the Medical Director for Bay Area Spine Institute.
Dr. Nottingham is currently a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Spine Arthroplasty Society.
Doctor Michlitsch began practicing orthopaedic medicine in 2001 after earning his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
Dr. Michlitsch completed his subsequent internship and residency at Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center. During that period he obtained his pediatric orthopaedic training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Michlitsch continued postgraduate training in Pasadena, CA , obtaining additional experience in Sports Medicine (arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery) and Shoulder and Elbow Reconstruction.
Dr. Michlitsch currently practices orthopedic surgery with a special interest in sports medicine at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists. Committed and focused, he has authored numerous presentations and publications on related topics including multi-ligamentous knee injuries and the treatment of tennis elbow. He has developed and performed biomechanical studies of a new treatment for shoulder separations. He has been assistant team physician for Pasadena City College and Occidental College, and was head team physician for Eagle Rock High School. He currently is Team Physician for Monte Vista High School and Associate Team Physician for St. Mary's College. His wife, Jennifer, is a pediatrician completing her fellowship training. His free time is spent playing with sons Mason (3 years) and Cody (6 months).
Dr. Michlitsch is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Diane Dooley M.D. is the chairperson of the department of Pediatrics at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez and the pediatric quality consultant for Contra Costa Health Plan. Dr. Dooley has dedicated her career to serving the low-income children of Contra Costa County. Her particular interests are pediatric obesity, health insurance coverage for children, and quality of care for children and school health. Her work in pediatric obesity began with a project for the California HealthCare Foundation Health Care Leadership program in 2004. She is presently working with her partners in Contra Costa County, including Families CAN, Kaiser Permanente, Contra Costa Child Care Council, and First Five Contra Costa to implement an action plan to prevent pediatric obesity in children ages 0-5. Dr. Dooley served on the Benicia Unified School Board for 10 years, during which time she was an early advocate for improved school nutrition.
Dr. Mohsin R. Khalique finished medical school in Karachi, Pakistan and did part of his psychiatry training in Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and SUNY Buffalo. He has completed his child psychiatry fellowship from SUNY Buffalo and is double board certified. Dr. Khalique is especially interested in neurochemical responses of psychotherapy, neuropharmacological advancements in treatment of mood disorders, development of child from the perspective of culture and family.
