The John Muir Physician Network works hard with our physicians to facilitate the highest quality health care services for our members. The John Muir Physician Network monitors and evaluates a broad range of services in a variety of settings. Quality improvement programs are implemented with the goal of delivering high satisfaction and value to our patients and providers.
The John Muir Physician Network's ongoing participation in a number of statewide quality improvement initiatives has achieved statewide recognition as one of the top-performing physician organizations in clinical quality and IT investment. Results from participation in the statewide Consumer Assessment Survey, measuring patient satisfaction, indicate high satisfaction with access to care and physician/patient communication. In the survey, we were recognized as one of the top ten groups in Northern California, and rated the best overall group in the East Bay. The John Muir Physician Network Quality Improvement staff continues to actively participate and provide leadership in various statewide quality improvement programs, facilitated by healthcare cooperatives, which include local employer groups, health plans, and provider organizations.
Internal quality initiatives include outcome studies in spine surgery, total joint surgery, and infection prevention in all elective surgery. We've also developed programs to improve care in diabetes and heart disease, and to increase cancer screening. Our doctors had the best performance of any group in the state in the treatment of asthma. The John Muir Physician Network recently received "Top ratings in Pay for Performance" from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
