In the most recent review, John Muir Behavioral Health Center was given full accreditation by the Joint Commission (embed link). Receiving only 1 request for improvement, John Muir Behavioral Health Center exceeded those benchmarks set by the state and nation. Nationally hospitals receive an average of 10 requests for improvement and California has had an average of 12 -14. Since the survey the corrective action plan to the 1 request for improvement was accepted by the Joint Commission.
The John Muir Behavioral Health Center's dedication to quality is clear through our participation in the national pilot program sponsored by The Joint Commission for psychiatric programs. Currently tracking 5 core metrics in this field, this program hopes to bring higher level of quality to Behavioral Health nationally.
The pilot program is testing and evaluating the 5 reported core measures and their impact on quality of care. Once the evaluation is completed and the monitoring rolled out to all psychiatric hospitals in 2008, the hospital outcomes will be reported on the Joint Commission website.
John Muir Behavioral Health Center patients receive a patient satisfaction survey when they are discharged, requesting them to rank the services they received. The surveys are kept confidential and mailed to an independent research organization for tally and results available monthly for follow-up and action.
Results from: Second Quarter 2007
