As the first and only designated Western Robotic Foregut Centers, we specialize in Advanced Foregut treatments for a variety of digestive conditions. The foregut is the section of the upper gastrointestinal tract that includes the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver and bile ducts.
Foregut surgery includes both minimally invasive and conventional procedures. Minimally invasive procedures and techniques typically involve smaller incisions, utilizing advanced technology which typically allows for less bleeding, reduced scarring, and faster recovery time. Foregut surgeries include:
- LINX: The LINX Reflux Management System is composed of a series of titanium beads, each with a magnetic core, connected together with independent titanium wires to form a ring shape. The LINX device is implanted at the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), a circular band of muscle that closes the last few centimeters of the esophagus and prevents the backward flow of stomach contents.
- Nissen/Dor/Toupet: Treatments that reduce the gastric reflux by attaching the stomach to the esophagus at different angles.
