What about proxy access?
If you are currently managing the health for a loved one you will be able to use this service for their health care needs as well.

What can I be treated for using eVisits?

  • Inhaler refill (asthma)
  • Burns (minor)
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • Diaper Rash
  • Eczema
  • Epi Pen refill
  • Motion Sickness
  • Canker or cold sore
  • Birth Control Pill refill
  • Infection of Eyelid (Stye)
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Cold, sinus infection, or sore throat
  • Influenza (the flu)
  • Female bladder infection (UTI)
  • Vaginal yeast infection

When can I use eVisits?
You can complete your eVisit any time of day or night-24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You will receive an email diagnosis within one hour during the business hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. If you complete an eVisit outside of these times, we will respond by 9 a.m. the following morning.

How much does it cost?
Each eVisit costs $25. You can pay with a credit card or a health savings card (HSA). You are ONLY charged if you receive a diagnosis and treatment plan. There is NO charge for setting up an account or completing an eVisit.

Are eVisits covered by health insurance?
No. As this is a relatively new service, generally most health insurance companies do not yet cover it. It's always a good idea to check with your health insurance plan for specific details on your coverage.

What is the refund policy?
You will only be charged the $25 eVisit cost if you receive a diagnosis. If you are unable to complete an online exam, you will not be charged. If you complete an online exam and a doctor determines a diagnosis cannot be made, you will be given a refund. You will also be given a refund if you do not receive a diagnosis within one hour between the times of 8 a.m.- 8 p.m.

Who makes the diagnosis?
Board-certified doctors at John Muir Health perform all of our eVisit diagnoses. Once you have completed the eVisit, a doctor will review your symptoms and develop a treatment plan unique to you.

How long does it take?
An eVisit takes about five minutes to complete. Because every person is unique, the total number of questions you answer will depend on your condition and your health status.

Can I get a prescription?
Yes. eVisit doctors are board-certified and are able to prescribe certain medications as part of your care plan. Please note: eVisits treats minor health conditions and does not provide prescriptions for pain medications or narcotics.

eVisits is not an online pharmacy, but we will send your prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice. You are responsible for the cost of any prescriptions, over-the-counter treatments, or follow-up visits you may need.

How safe is my personal information?
All your data is encrypted and protected, so you can feel confident that your personal health information is secure and confidential. Our Terms of Service provides more information on how we protect the personal information provided through our website.

Do I have access to records of my eVisit?
Yes. You and your proxies will have the ability to view a record of your eVisit from within MyJohnMuirHealth. Your eVisit will also be included in your historical medical record.

Can doctors view a record of the eVisits?
Yes. A historical record of your eVisit will also be stored in our electronic medical record system. Your doctor will be able to view your eVisits records in the same way he or she can view the rest of your medical record.

What browsers does it support?
eVisits requires you to use a modern browser to ensure your data is secure. IE9 or newer, Safari, Chrome, or Firefox are the supported browsers.
