3T MRI at Berkeley Outpatient Center

MRI

The industry-leading 3T MRI has arrived at the Berkeley Outpatient Center
When it comes to patient care, your expectation is excellence. That’s why we’ve invested in the new MAGNETOM Vida 3T MRI. Trusted by physicians and preferred by patients, our MRI offers:

Speed & Efficiency
3T MRI enables faster, more accurate scans to minimize motion artifacts and sedation, and decrease time-to-results

Precision
Increased sensitivity enables higher resolution images, for clearer clinical answers.

Adaptability & Consistency
BioMatrix Technology adapts to patient differences, reducing exam variations and rescans, while enhancing results.

Wide-Bore
Our MRI is wider than most MRIs, which is crucial for patients who are claustrophobic. Wide-bore MRIs have more headroom, for taller patients, and are larger to accommodate patients up to 550lbs.

CT

The Somatom Definition Edge CT
This CT is able to perform high-volume, intricate scans quickly in both routine and emergent cases. Outfitted with intelligent imaging programs to streamline data output, our CT additionally offers:

Imaging advances adapt to diverse patient types
The large capacity scanning system, with dose-sensitive protocols, accommodates patients of all sizes, including bariatric and pediatric cases

Technology developments promote complex care cases
Sophisticated software balances low-dose radiation with excellent imaging quality to optimize outcomes for cancer and cardiology patients.

PET/CT

Designed to evaluate biochemical changes at the molecular level
Our PET/CT has state-of-the-art Biograph Vision 450 offering:

  • Superior image quality to increase diagnostic accuracy; allows for precision medicine and personalized care.
  • Reduced exam times to facilitate higher patient throughput, allowing improved access to patient appointment times.
  • Improvements in detector sensitivity; enables lower radiation doses

DEXA

DXA or DEXA (dual-energy X-ray asorpitometry) scans are bone density tests designed to measure the strength, density and bone size to determine any bone loss. DEXA scans are similar to X-rays: painless and noninvasive. They compare bone density with standards for what is expected in someone of your patient’s age, gender, and size.

Bone density testing can help to:

  • Detect/confirm Osteoporosis
  • Detect low bone density before any fracturing occurs
  • Determine and monitor rate of bone loss with regularly testing intervals

We utilize Hologic’s Horizon DXA system. This is latest generation of bone density scanners and comes equipped with several new features, including:

  • FDA cleared single-energy femur exams that aren’t available from other systems
  • Continuity with previous platforms for essential comparison to previous scans
