The award from ACNL recognizes nurse leaders for excellence in nursing leadership and advancement of clinical practice. Four excellence in leadership awards are presented annually; one to each of the four geographic regions. Jones was nominated by members of the ACNL for her "demonstrated significant support of the nursing profession."
"It is definitely an honor to be selected for this award," says Jones. "The ACNL is a well-respected organization within the nursing community and to be recognized is both a personal and professional achievement. While the award is in my name, the recognition really belongs to the nursing management team at John Muir. On their behalf, I am honored to accept this award."
"Jones is a true nurse leader", says Mary Lopez, R.N., M.S.N., and President of the ACNL. "Her talents and contributions are of tremendous value to the nursing profession and to her colleagues. The ACNL is proud to acknowledge Beverly with this award."
Jones will formally receive the award at the ACNL annual conference February 7, 2006 in Los Angeles. She will be honored alongside the other regional winners.
