2007 Nursing Camp

What do Registered Nurses (RNs) do?

RNs are a vital part of the health care team and often the first health care practitioners to assess the conditions of patients. Nursing combines the art of caring with the science of health care.

Nurse Camp 2007

Nurse Camp 2007 at John Muir Health involved twelve high school and college students interested in nursing careers. Students visited the Operating Room, Labor and Delivery, the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) spending time with nurses doing hands-on activities. At the Samuel Merritt College Nurse Simulation Lab, students learned about being a Nurse Anesthetist, how to do IVs, blood pressure, and CPR. All participants are Heart Saver certified.
