Neurosurgical Excellence

Stroke/Neurovascular Program
Brain Attack - Know the signs and symptoms to prevent a Brain Attack. Stroke is an emergency. Call 911 immediately if you experience any signs of:

Stroke and Brain Attack
Emergency diagnosis and treatment of stroke including intravenous or intraarterial clot-busting drugs are available in the Emergency Departments of both John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus and John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus. These medications can be quite effective for the appropriate patient, but must be administered within three hours of the onset of the brain attack. Know the signs and symptoms of a brain attack and call 911.

Brain Injury Program
Specialized, multidisciplinary, rehabilitation staff provide a continuum of care and treatment to patients who have sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Component include:

Neuropsychology/Memory Clinic

Comprehensive, outpatient clinical evaluations of cognitive functioning to identify areas of disabilities and strategies for coping or remediating. A Neurosciences team member assists in patient and family education during the course of care.
