John Muir Physical Therapy Receives Award

John Muir Physical Therapy has been awarded the first Samuel Merritt College Excellence in Physical Therapy Clinical Education Award. The award recognizes all John Muir Health campuses and outpatient rehabilitation locations.

The award recognizes commitment to the range of clinical education experiences, dedication to excellence in clinical teaching among the physical therapists, and support for professional development of the physical therapists in the area of clinical teaching. Faculty from the Samuel Merritt College, Department of Physical Therapy considered internal recommendations and student feedback in selecting the award recipient.

"John Muir's Physical Therapy Staff has shown an exceptionally high level of quality instruction at its sites over many years," says Terrence Nordstrom, PT, MA, interim chairperson for the Department of Physical Therapy at Samuel Merritt College. "Clinical instructors at John Muir Health demonstrate high levels of professionalism and positive attitude towards clinical education."

"This award symbolizes our dedication to the future of physical therapy," says Patty Haggen, MHA, PT, director of Rehabilitation Services for John Muir Health. "It is an honor to be recognized."

John Muir Physical Rehabilitation Services has outpatient centers in Walnut Creek, Brentwood, Concord, Danville and Rossmoor.
