The system is one of the top 20 employers in Contra Costa County, so we are a significant part of the local economy. This interdependence reinforces our legacy of service to the community.

As a system we are committed to improving the health of our communities-including those residents most in need of assistance. We strive to assist uninsured and underserved children and adults through the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund. The Fund receives $1 million annually from John Muir Health. In turn, the Fund awards grants to community-based programs and initiatives that help our vulnerable populations gain greater access to health care.

While our system is dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve, we know we can't do it alone. The John Muir Community Health Alliance creates partnerships with community-based organizations, private and public health and social services agencies, and other providers to address the unmet needs of central and eastern Contra Costa County residents.
