John Muir Health has joined a growing number of hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country in making the decision to become Tobacco Free. Smoking and the use of tobacco products are a major cause of preventable disease and death. As a respected health care leader, we believe it is our duty to provide a safe and healthful workplace for our employees and a healthy environment of healing for our patients.
On September 8, 2008 John Muir Health announced its decision to become Tobacco Free in all of its facilities, grounds, parking lots, offsite offices and outpatient centers. This decision reinforces John Muir Health's commitment to the promotion of health and wellness, supporting a culture of health for our employees, and the prevention and treatment of diseases within the communities we serve.
