Childbirth and Pregnancy Classes

Having a baby is one of the most memorable experiences you will ever have. It is also full of unknowns. From pregnancy nutrition to breastfeeding multiples, our prenatal program includes all kinds of classes each month to help answer your questions and to give you the confidence to be the mom you want to be.

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is one of the most important things you can do for your newborn. John Muir Health offers a wide range of services to help you achieve the nutritional goals you set for your child:

• Classes: Learn different breastfeeding techniques, how to nurse multiples, or what supplies you need to get started in one of our classes.
• Lactation consultants: Ask one of our board certified lactation consultants for help if you need it.
• Support line: Our breastfeeding support line will answer any questions you have.
• Specially-trained registered nurses: While in the hospital, our registered nurses educated in breastfeeding techniques will help you get started and support you with each feeding.
• Pregnancy assistant: Our pregnancy assistant can help you purchase or rent breast pumps, nursing bras, pillows, or connect you to other breastfeeding resources.

High Risk Care for Your Baby

In the rare event that your baby needs specialized care during or after your labor and delivery, you can take comfort in knowing we're prepared. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at John Muir Health is a world–class Level III NICU with around–the–clock care for the most premature and critically ill babies.

Car Seat Installations

You know that nothing is more important when you get into your car than buckling up. However statistics show most people install their child's safety seat incorrectly.
