John Muir Health is devoted to helping you be healthy at every stage in your life. Through a wide range of educational and clinical services, we provide you with all the tools you need to be the healthy woman you choose to be.
Your health depends on a number of factors – including that you are a woman. Some conditions affect women differently, like heart disease. Others are specific to women only, such as breast cancer, pregnancy, and menopause. And some affect women more often, like osteoporosis.
The Women's Health Center is an East Bay resource for women of all ages with classes, support groups, screenings, special events, and other services just for you.

Health education can lead to a longer, healthier life. Take a look at our classes and events on stress management, parenting, pregnancy and childbirth, healthy aging, and much more.

Women experience urinary incontinence twice as often as men. Pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause are all factors that contribute to the difference. We offer a comprehensive program that can give you the care you need.
Heart disease affects women differently than in men and kills women more often than any other disease. Our heart program provides screenings, education, prevention plans, and risk assessments to help women keep their hearts healthy.
John Muir Health has the most comprehensive breastfeeding program in Contra Costa County with classes, lactation consultants, as well as a store that has all the nursing supplies you need.
Osteoporosis causes as many as half of all women older than 50 to break a bone – and many don't even know they have it. Bone density screening measures how much calcium and other minerals are in your bones. It is the best way to check your bone health and a first step to keeping them strong.
Keeping your breasts healthy means screening for breast cancer regularly. Mammography is an important tool that can find tumors long before they are big enough to feel.
John Muir Health provides free wigs to women and children suffering hair loss due to medical treatment. Wig fitting appointments are available at the Women's Health Center.
Your child's health is important to us. Help your child get a healthy start in life by consulting with a pediatric nutritionist about the special nutritional needs of children.
Visit the health library for the most up-to-date brochures, books, and videos about women's health.
Our on–site and online boutique has thoughtful gifts, jewelry, nursing supplies, parenting books, and more.
Gift certificates are available that you can use towards breastfeeding consults, massage therapy, supplies, books, or any other programs or services at the women's health center. Call (925) 941-7900, option #3 for more details.
