Children's Behavioral Health Program

Children’s Behavioral Health Program

The Child Psychiatric Program treats children ages 4 to 12 who have emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral problems. We emphasize personalized care, as well as correct diagnosis based on behavioral observation and prior history.

Any necessary medication is then prescribed and managed. The average stay lasts 7 to 10 days. Family participation in treatment is actively encouraged.

Commonly treated conditions include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Oppositional defiant disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

Family Involvement

You and the rest of your family are an integral part of your son’s or daughter’s healing team. We encourage you to keep in touch with your child’s psychiatrist, social worker, nurses, and counselors. Be sure to ask staff to answer any questions you have about your child’s care.
