Detoxification
Medical detoxification is provided under the direction of Fred Von Stieff, MD, board-certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Von Stieff and a team of specialized nurses supervise the safe withdrawal from alcohol and other addictive substances.
During this process, patients are assigned an individual case manager and participate in an educational and therapeutic treatment process until they are medically stabilized. Patients are then assisted in creating a recovery plan, and, if appropriate, may be discharged to the residential program or an outpatient program to continue their treatment.
Psychiatric Care
A Board Certified psychiatrist assesses each patient for psychiatric issues. Identified psychiatric concerns are part of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.
Inpatient Rehabilitation
This level of care is provided for those who demonstrate medical necessity and require the security of 24-hour supervision. Patients stay at our center and attend groups and educational programs during the day. In the evening, staff help patients strengthen their commitment to recovery.
Detoxification and Chemical Dependency Treatment
Our Behavioral Health Center provides detoxification and treatment for alcohol and substance abuse. It is a state-licensed facility accredited by the Joint Commission.
Assessment
The assessment staff provides an initial assessment of a person’s medical condition, as well as history of use, available support, factors that may impair motivation, and denial associated with resistance to recovery. The assessment enables staff to determine the appropriate level of treatment.
Insurance
John Muir Health is a preferred provider for many insurance companies. The assessment specialist will help explain the person’s benefit, explain his or her financial responsibility, and may help secure the authorization necessary to begin treatment.
