Lung Health Services at John Muir Medical Center, Concord can help you maintain your independence and breathe more freely. Community health offerings include a range of outpatient rehabilitation and support programs.
Lung Health Services (Pulmonary Rehabilitation) Office
We’re located just north of the John Muir Medical Center, Concord, about a mile from BART’s Concord station. If you are driving on Highway 242-N then take the Grant Street/Solano Way exit and turn right. If you are driving on Highway 242-S then take the Grant Street/Solano Way exit and turn left. We are on the left-hand side of Grant Street if you are coming from that direction.
Entrance and Parking
The main entrance to the John Muir Medical Center, Concord off of Almond Avenue. Our parking lot has 82 patient and visitor parking spaces. Additional parking for patients and visitors will continue to be available behind the medical center adjacent to the Emergency Department entrance, which can be accessed along Park Ave.
Along with increased signage, an attendant is available at the main entrance parking lot to direct traffic and provide a map, if needed, to the alternate patient and visitor parking area.
Most Nursing Units
11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Visitors are welcome at any time, provided the patient is rested.
Critical Care Units (Intensive Care and Cardiac Care)
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 4:30 to 11:00 PM
Visits are restricted to immediate adult family members.
Before each visit, please use the in-house phones located by the waiting room.
Additional Information About Visiting
When allowed, children under 12 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children must be healthy and have current immunizations for contagious diseases.
Please protect our patients. Do not visit if:
- You don't feel well.
- You have a fever or the flu.
- You have a cold or a sore throat.
- You have recently been exposed to and have never had chicken pox, measles or mumps.
If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to ask the Floor Nurse or a Volunteer.

Lung Disease Education/Support Group
A free, welcoming group for patients and their families meets at 2:00 PM on the last Wednesday of each month at John Muir Medical Center, Concord.
Lung Health Services Rehabilitation Program
This intensive six-week education and exercise program is designed for people with chronic lung disease. A physician referral and fee are required. Graduates can participate in an ongoing exercise program and monthly education and support sessions.

Sleep Apnea Patient Support Group
This free group supports sleep apnea sufferers, their loved ones, and other interested parties. It meets at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek.
