Interpreter Services Available 24/7 at No Cost to the Patient

Services are available in the John Muir Health Medical Centers, John Muir Health Outpatient Centers, and John Muir Health Physician Network-owned practices.

John Muir Health offers the following resources as Qualified Interpreters:

Telephone Interpretation
  • Telephone interpreters are available for over 230 spoken languages and accessible 24/7 in the hospitals and outpatient sites
  • Telecommunications Relay Services is available for patients with a hearing or speech disability to use the telephone system via a text telephone (TTY) or other device to call persons with or without such disabilities by dialing 7-1-1 on any phone.
Video Remote Interpretation (VRI)

Video interpretation is available in Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) 24/7; the 13 additional spoken languages are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

In-person Interpretation
  • Qualified Employee Interpreters are available in the hospital and outpatient sites.
  • Spoken languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) are available with a 24-hour notification.
