What Docents Do

Docents help educate potential and pre-surgery patients, new volunteers, those seeking careers in the medical profession, children, and others. Docents may serve in classroom environments, on tours of facilities, or at grade schools.

Training

Trainings for new docents are held regularly. You’ll learn about many of the different areas of the medical center and the health field in general. Ongoing education about the latest John Muir Health initiatives and treatment innovations is provided at our monthly meetings, which feature guest speakers.

How to Apply

The John Muir Health docent program is an important part of John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek and the John Muir Health Medical Center Auxiliary. If you’re interested in becoming a docent, please call us at (925) 941-5028.
