John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek and John Muir Medical Center, Concord are designated Primary Stoke Centers, which means that patients experiencing symptoms of stroke anywhere in Contra Costa County can expect to receive expert care at either of our two hospitals. John Muir Health also treats patients from other areas throughout California whose local hospitals do not have the capability to treat highly acute stroke cases.
