John Muir Health, in partnership with UCSF Health, is combining our respective strengths and resources to reimagine world-class cancer care and transform how patients in our community receive treatment.
In collaboration with UCSF Health, a world-renowned academic medical system, John Muir Health is meeting the cancer care needs of our community. Together, we are keeping the focus on what is best for those who are fighting cancer — for patients, their families, and for the greater Bay Area community.
Our vision of an integrated Cancer Network within the East Bay is anchored in John Muir Health's brand new 155,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Behring Pavilion, home to the UCSF-John Muir Health Jean and Ken Hofmann Cancer Center, located on John Muir Health's Walnut Creek Medical Center campus.
The Jean and Ken Hofmann Cancer Center will serve as the central HUB for our network of cancer care sites throughout the East Bay, including Berkeley, Brentwood, Concord, San Ramon, and Vallejo.
John Muir Health recently took several significant steps forward in the development of the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Network and in the growth of several other medical specialties. As of August 2021, Diablo Valley Oncology (DVO), Pacific Urology, and West Coast Surgical Associates (WCSA) are now part of John Muir Health, adding 35 oncology physicians and 225 clinicians and professional support staff.
These three provider groups have long-standing and deep commitments to their patients, John Muir Health, and the communities we serve. Our shared goal is to provide high-quality care and outstanding patient outcomes.
This addition amplifies the growth, capabilities and excellence of John Muir Health’s medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, urology, and specialized surgical services — DVO's radiation oncologists and hematology oncologists are combining with three additional oncologists to form the John Muir Health Cancer Medical Group.
Patients visiting the new Cancer Center will experience the most advanced screening, treatment, prevention, survivorship services, and clinical trials available. Our region will benefit from UCSF Health and John Muir Health's multidisciplinary strengths, expertise, and resources.
