For parents in Contra Costa County and surrounding communities, having a child with a complex medical condition used to mean spending lots of time traveling all over the Bay Area for visits with children’s specialists.
Through our collaboration with Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, we treat the brain, spine, skull, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves using traditional and minimally invasive neurosurgery techniques.
In addition to your pediatric neurosurgeon, your child’s care team may also include nurses and other healthcare providers—all who have advanced training in specifically treating children and teens.
Pediatric Neurosurgery
During my residency I recognized that pediatric neurosurgery was where I could make the biggest difference for my patients. They are resilient, their brains are still making a lot of new connections, so their potential to recover is much greater than adults, and they have their entire lives ahead of them. I am humbled and inspired by my patients, who can endure so much and still be positive, still smile and laugh at the end of the day.
Pediatric Neurosurgery
I love caring for children because they are full of life and promise. Children are so resilient. I find it immensely rewarding to change the course of their lives–to watch them recover, grow and do well. Caring for your child is a privilege that I don’t take lightly, and I treat every child as if they’re family. I am especially interested in developing novel approaches to treat children with craniosynostosis, brain tumors, and congenital disorders.
