John Muir Health utilizes state-of-the-art neuro-imaging tools to get the most accurate images of the brain and spine, which helps us make quick and accurate diagnosis of neurological conditions and effectively treat them.
With our state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to quickly and accurately identify abnormal neurological conditions.
Our goal with all of the diagnostic neuroradiology equipment we use is to get the best images possible, while making the procedure safe and comfortable for you. We have a wide-ranging set of diagnostic imaging tools, including:
64-slice CT scanner – With four times as many detectors as a typical multi-detector CT scanner, this machine produces highly detailed 3D images in a matter of seconds, assisting us in our ability to pinpoint neurological abnormalities.
3T MRI scanner – The most powerful MRI available today, this scanner gives us a thorough, cross-section view of the brain or spine. The increased image clarity leads to accurate, definitive diagnoses of neurological conditions.
Functional MRI – With this advanced imaging tool, we can map critical areas of brain functioning such as speech, vision, and memory to the brain’s anatomy, which helps us avoid impairing these key brain functions during treatment.
In addition, we offer several other sophisticated diagnostic tools that help us chart metabolic activity, blood supply, and other important factors to better assist us in making the proper diagnosis of neurological conditions like tumors, aneurysms, hemorrhages, and arterial stenosis.
