John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek is a 572-licensed bed hospital that is designated as the only trauma center for Contra Costa County and portions of Solano County. Entrance and Parking
The main entrance to the John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek is on La Casa Via off of Ygnacio Valley Road. Turn left into the parking garage off of La Casa Via. Our parking garage is open 24 hours with spaces for patients and visitors. The address of the garage is 133 La Casa Via. Complimentary valet parking is also available near the main entrance to the medical center.
Visitors are welcome as they can be a patient's best medicine. However, we ask that visitors be limited to two at a time, and that times listed be observed.
Most Nursing Units
10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Every two hours during 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM except during end of shift reporting at 3:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
ICU, CCU, and NSICU visitors are limited to immediate family.
Please limit visits to 15 minutes.
Children under 12 are not permitted.
Parents are welcome anytime.
1:00 to 9:00 PM for healthy siblings and all other visitors
Family Birth Center
11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Siblings of the baby may visit if they are accompanied by a responsible adult. They must be healthy and not exposed to communicable diseases.
Pediatrics and the Birth Center have restricted entrances. Please use the phones by the department doors to request entry.
Additional Information About Visiting
When allowed, children under 12 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children must be healthy and have current immunizations for contagious diseases.
Please protect our patients. Do not visit if:
- You don't feel well.
- You have a fever or the flu.
- You have a cold or a sore throat.
- You have recently been exposed to and have never had chicken pox, measles or mumps.
If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to ask the Floor Nurse or a Volunteer.
