About Us
The Garret Thrift Shop is a fundraising initiative of the John Muir Health, Walnut Creek Medical Center Auxiliary, a dedicated volunteer organization supporting John Muir Health’s Walnut Creek Medical Center.
For decades, the Auxiliary has contributed more than $20 million toward patient care, advanced medical equipment, facility enhancements, and vital hospital programs. Proceeds from The Garret Thrift Shop play an important role in sustaining this impact, helping to enhance the patient experience and support essential healthcare services for the community.
The shop features a curated selection of donated items, including clothing, jewelry, books, furniture, antiques, collectibles, and more.
Donations
We accept donations at our store Tuesday - Saturday between 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, limit three bags. We are always looking for clothing, furniture, books, antiques, and more. For donation questions, call (925) 932-9474 or email brian.corona@johnmuirhealth.com
Daily Specials
Our specials rotate daily throughout the week.
Tuesday: 10% Off Storewide (all departments)
Wednesday: 50% off linens, pillows
Thursday: Senior Day, 55 years or older, 50% off clothes, shoes, and purses (excluding white tags)
Friday: 25% off furniture, pictures, frames, lamps
Saturday: 50% off clothes, shoes, purses (excluding white tags) for everyone
Special Events
July 18: Craft and Social - Come out for a fun morning at the Garret Thrift shop as we paint tote bags and make flower pens. All the supplies are provided, and you don’t need any crafting experience to join. Just come by to enjoy good company and make something cool with friends.
August 1 - 18: 2026 East Bay Thrift Store Crawl - Explore and support participating thrift stores throughout the East Bay during the Thrift Store Crawl. Shoppers who make a qualifying $10+ purchase at each participating location can collect stickers and complete their Crawl Brochure for a chance to win a Grand Prize Bundle featuring eleven $25 gift cards (one from each participating organization.) The prize drawing will take place during the week of August 25.
