Interventional neuroradiology is a minimally invasive form of treatment for certain types of strokes, aneurysms, and other neurological disorders that leads to faster recovery times with the same level of effectiveness as traditional treatment options.

Interventional neuroradiological procedures and treatment at John Muir Health occur inside a state-of-the-art neurovascular suite that utilizes bi-plane high-resolution image processing technology. This imaging technology provides 3D views of the brain and its blood vessels with extraordinary clarity to help us accurately map and treat the neurological condition.

A common interventional neuroradiological procedure involves using the imaging technology to guide a catheter through the body’s blood vessels and into the brain where a coil or a type of “super glue” is applied to stop hemorrhaging.
