Two Great Hospitals

We provide comprehensive health care to the communities of Contra Costa County and the greater San Francisco Bay area through two premier facilities. Our Concord Medical Center is a 259-bed acute care facility, recognized as a preeminent center for cancer and cardiac care, including open-heart surgery and interventional cardiology. Other specialty areas are general surgery, orthopedic and neurology programs. Our 321-bed Walnut Creek Medical Center is the only Level II Trauma Center in the area, and is renowned for high- and low-risk obstetrics, orthopedics, neuroscience, cardiac and cancer care.

Pharmacy Careers at John Muir Health

A Dynamic Environment

At our state-of-the-art pharmacies, clinical decision support is placed at the pharmacist's fingertips. John Muir Health Pharmacy Services  include unit based clinical pharmacists working with the health care team at the patient bedside and operational pharmacists utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Our pharmacists are involved in almost every facet of health care, including clinical rounds, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Pediatrics, Oncology, Acute Care, Medication Safety, Ambulatory Care, along with the development and implementation of pharmacy driven protocols. Our pharmacies also provide clinical rotations for students from several Pharm.D. programs throughout the state as well as a Pharmacy Residency program starting summer 2019.

State-of-the-Art Innovations
In keeping up with our clinical programs, our technology is constantly upgraded. We feature a closed loop medication model, including the use of a comprehensive decision support order entry system, robotic automation for drug distribution, Pyxis Medication cabinets, bedside medication verification and bar-coding, the Vigilanz Adverse Event Monitoring system, and advanced pharmacy information systems.

New Grads
Our Concord and Walnut Creek Medical Centers provide clinical rotations for 3rd and 4th year students from Touro, UOP, UCSF and USC. As you progress in your career, you can learn and grow with us through annual tuition reimbursement, continuing education, educational leave and professional development seminars. You will also benefit from our pharmacy management who enthusiastically offer their time for mentoring and job shadowing.
