Take advantage of John Muir Health's upfront support in Continuing Education, Tuition Reimbursement , onsite classes for Continuing Education credits, and Professional Development Seminars to further your skills. Employees who excel in their careers may also be eligible for the Work Study Program. The program provides paid time away to attend a college level program . This honor is bestowed on those who have achieved superior performance and who are selected by our leadership team.

New Grad Programs

Clinical Laboratory Scientists - Our intensive Orientation Program includes an introduction to the hospitals and training in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Immunology, Molecular Pathology and Microbiology. Other courses cover customer service and safety. From day one, your growth and development are top priorities. Employees can apply for Tuition Reimbursement Programs.

Imaging Professionals - Take advantage of John Muir Health's upfront support in Continuing Education and Tuition Reimbursement. We offer a Work Study Program for eligible who want to work in multiple modalities. Employees can apply for this program after two years of full time employment. If selected the employee may pursue an accredited, two-year program in Sonography, Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology.

Pharmacists - John Muir Medical Centers in Concord and Walnut Creek provide clinical rotations for 3rd and 4th year students from UOP, UCSF and USC.

Physical Therapists - New Graduates play an integral role in rehabilitation services. They can obtain experience in acute care for three months...then to work in the inpatient rehab unit...and follow up by practicing in one of our five outpatient therapy centers. Guided by experienced therapists we bring people into our health system team, help them find their niche and work with them to further their careers.

Occupational Therapists & Speech/Language Pathologists - You'll play an integral role in our patients' health care as they undergo different procedures. You could be assigned to acute care, then to work in the acute rehab, and follow up in one of five outpatient therapy centers in central Contra Costa County. We are not just limited to hospital-based acute care or inpatient practice — we have everything. When we bring people into our system, they find their niche and stay here.

Radiation Therapists - You'll become an integral part of a highly-skilled multidisciplinary team including Radiation Oncologists, RNs, Physicists, Dosimetrists and Technical Coordinators. In your role, you will administer the planned treatment to patients on a daily basis. We provide intensive training so you can operate very sophisticated treatment machines to deliver the best care possible.

Respiratory Therapists - John Muir Health offers didactic and practical training, including advanced cardiac life support, computerized charting, and skills maintenance. You'll learn to master the latest ventilator equipment mentored by skilled practitioners. Intensively supervised education and training includes bedside pulmonary function testing, arterial puncture and interpretations, and bronchoscopy assistance, working with highly qualified Pulmonologists.
