COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Scheduled or Invitation Received

Updated February 12, 2021

My spouse or significant other is also in the age groups you are vaccinating. I received an appointment invitation, but they did not. Can we both schedule an appointment?

Each patient, even in one household, will receive their own invitation to schedule an appointment. Appointment invitations are based on the vaccine supply we have received. The County is actively working with us to ensure that we have enough supplies to offer the vaccine to our patients. As we receive more vaccine doses, we will contact more of our patients to schedule appointments. We understand that having separate appointments for people in the same household may be inconvenient, and, for that, we apologize. We are working to vaccinate as many patients as we can, as quickly as we can. We appreciate your patience.

To ensure we can contact our patients quickly, we encourage you to sign up for a MyChart account by visiting our MyChart sign up information page.

Will there be medical professionals available in case of adverse events?

Yes. Our vaccine clinic staffing includes Registered Nurses and Physicians, and we are prepared to handle any adverse events.

Can I receive the vaccine in my car?

To ensure we are providing you with safe care, we are only giving the vaccine inside our vaccine clinics. This allows us to observe you for any reactions after the vaccine, and care for you quickly if needed. We have the tools/resources available to monitor you inside our clinic and to care for you in a safe environment. Our vaccine clinics are wheelchair accessible and there is assistance available for anyone who requires help walking.

When will I get my second dose?

When you receive your first vaccination, you will be scheduled for your second vaccination before you leave the appointment. For the Pfizer vaccine, the second dose is given 21 days after the first dose. For the Moderna vaccine, the second dose is given 28 days after the first dose.

Which vaccine will I receive?

The vaccine you receive (Pfizer, Moderna, etc) is dependent on which vaccines we receive from the County. We are unable to accommodate requests for specific vaccines. Your second dose will be from the same manufacturer as your first dose. Both vaccines are effective and safe. For more information about each of the vaccines, please visit:

How do I cancel my vaccination appointment?

You may cancel your appointment in MyChart, using these steps:

  1. Log in to MyChart. Trouble logging in? Please visit our MyChart FAQ for help
  2. Click on the Visits icon at the top of the page
  3. Your vaccine appointment will show under upcoming visits. Click on the appointment.
  4. You will now be on the Appointment details page. At the bottom of the page, click where it says "Cancel appointment" in red.

Thank you for helping us to provide an appointment time for another patient!

Can I reschedule my appointment?

We understand that many people would like to schedule their vaccine appointment at a time that is most convenient for them. Due to very high demand and limited supply, we are not able to reschedule appointments. We appreciate your understanding. If you would like a different appointment day and/or time, you may choose to cancel your appointment and wait to be contacted again to schedule a new appointment. We have many patients in the age groups we are currently vaccinating, and it will take many weeks to vaccinate everyone in these groups who want a vaccine. We encourage you to keep your original appointment when possible, in order to be vaccinated sooner.

Thank you for your patience!

We greatly appreciate your patience as we continue to care for our community while also offering the vaccine to our patients based on state and county guidelines and the doses allocated to us. We are heartened by the great interest in receiving the vaccine as it is the most effective way to end the pandemic.
