Hospital-Based Medical Detoxification

We provide detoxification and treatment for alcohol and substance abuse, in a state-licensed facility accredited by the Joint Commission. Medical detoxification is provided under the direction of Fred Von Stieff, MD, board-certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Von Stieff and a team of specialized nurses supervise your safe withdrawal from alcohol and other addictive substances.

During this process, you will participate in an educational and therapeutic treatment process until you are medically stabilized. We then help you to create a recovery plan, and, if appropriate, you may go on to our residential program or one of our outpatient programs to continue your treatment.

Psychiatric Care

A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner assesses each patient for psychiatric issues. If any issues are found, we address them as part of the treatment plan.

Assessment

When you come to us, the first step is that we assess your medical condition, as well as your history of use, available support, and factors that may make motivation challenging. This helps us to determine the right treatment plan for you.

Insurance

John Muir Health is a preferred provider for many health insurance companies. During your assessment we will help explain your health plan benefits, explain your financial responsibility, and may help secure the authorization necessary from your health plan to begin treatment.
