This special event is for family and friends who have been affected by the loss of a child. Whether the loss occurs from miscarriage, stillbirth, in infancy or during childhood, we are bonded. Sharing grief with others who too have experienced the death of a child, can help begin the healing process as well as provide hope for the future. As a NICU nurse and a parent who has experienced this profound loss, I sincerely hope you will join us for this special event. The evening will include music, poetry, a brief candle lit walk and an opportunity to share memories of your child. You are welcome to sit quietly or actively participate. Refreshments will be served at the end of the ceremony, at which time there will be an opportunity to connect with other families who have also experienced the loss of a child.
Siblings and special friends are also welcome to attend. Please bring a memento of your child, for example, a photo, ultrasound picture, blanket, stuffed animal, toy, etc. to share during and after the ceremony.
