How do I sign up for MyChart?

If you are a new user, you will need to activate your MyChart account using one of the following methods:

  • New to John Muir Health or no activation code - Visit MyChart or the MyChart mobile app, click "Ready to create a new account", then click "Start here to create your MyChart Account". Enter your personal details, confirm your identity, and create a login and password. For patients new to John Muir Health, you will also be able to create an account.
  • Received a text or email from us - If you recently scheduled an appointment or visited your provider, or if you are in one of the age groups we are currently vaccinating, you may receive an email or text from John Muir Health with a link for instant activation. Click the link and follow the instructions to set up your username and password.
  • Request or have an activation code - You may request an activation code from your doctor’s office. For your convenience, this code is also included on your After Visit Summary (AVS). Visit MyChart or the MyChart mobile app, click "Ready to create a new account" and follow the instructions.

If you previously had a MyJohnMuirHealth account, you can log in to MyChart or the MyChart mobile app with your same username and password.

I'm having trouble logging in to MyChart. What do I do?

If you've received an email invitation to schedule your vaccine appointment through MyChart and are having trouble logging in, please visit our MyChart FAQ for help.

I scheduled my vaccine appointment through MyChart, and I didn't get a confirmation. How do I confirm my appointment details?

Your appointment details can be found in your MyChart account. You may confirm your appointment in MyChart, using these steps:

  1. Log in to MyChart. Trouble logging in? Please visit our MyChart FAQ for help
  2. Click on the Visits icon at the top of the page
  3. Your vaccine appointment will show under upcoming visits.
  4. For more details and instructions, click on the appointment to see the Appointment details page.
I tried to schedule a vaccine appointment in MyChart but when I look in MyChart, I don’t see the appointment. What does that mean?

If you do not see a vaccine appointment under “Upcoming Visits” in MyChart, you did not complete the scheduling process and therefore you do not have an appointment. The last page of the scheduling process has a large button at the bottom of the page that says, “Schedule Now”. This button must be clicked to complete the appointment.

We understand that it’s very frustrating to find that your appointment was not scheduled. You may try scheduling your appointment again in MyChart. If you do not see any available appointment times, this means that we have no appointment slots available at this time. We will contact you again when more appointments become available. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

I tried to schedule a vaccine appointment in MyChart and was not able to schedule. What do I do?

We can only release a limited supply of vaccine appointments at a time and they fill quickly. Vaccine supply is limited nation-wide. The number of available appointments we are offering is determined by the amount of vaccine doses the County can allocate to us.

If you do not see any available appointment times, this means that we have no more appointment slots available at this time. As we receive more vaccine supply, we will open more appointment slots and contact our patients in the age groups we are vaccinating. If you received an invitation to schedule an appointment and were not able to do so, we will contact you again when more appointment slots open. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Why did I get a MyChart activation code? Does that mean I can schedule a vaccine appointment now?

We are using MyChart to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments. We're sending emails to our patients with activation codes, so that you can sign up for MyChart. These emails are not invitations to schedule yet. When it's your turn to schedule an appointment, we'll contact you again via MyChart.
