Emergency Medicine

Our Emergency Medicine rotation is a three-week rotation in both the 2nd and 3rd year of our residency program. This rotation takes place at our Concord Medical Center, which sees ~50,000 visits per year, has one of the shortest wait-times and time to admission rates in the Bay Area, and has higher patient satisfaction and patient recommendation rates than all other regional Emergency Departments, other than our Walnut Creek Medical Center.

Residents will be provided direct supervision by Emergency Physicians for all care and training at our Concord Emergency Department, including common procedures, and patients presenting with all levels of acuity.

Our residents will already have completed Urgent Care training in their first and second years that will prepare them well for learning in this high-paced and dynamic learning environment.

Concord is a general Emergency Department including adults and children from a broad and diverse surrounding community, with a payer mix that includes a substantial Medicaid and Medicare population.
