Integrated Behavioral Health
Our Integrated Behavioral Health Team is an embedded and essential part of our clinic, contributing significantly to both patient care and the education of medical residents. Team members collaborate closely with medical providers to address the behavioral, emotional, and psychological needs of patients, recognizing the integral connection between mental and physical health. They provide warm hand-offs, brief therapy interventions, pre-surgical psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments, ensuring timely, inclusive and accessible behavioral health services within the primary care setting.
A behavioral health provider is available during clinic hours and in select specialty clinics for real-time consultations with both patients and providers. This approach enhances whole-person care, reduces barriers to behavioral health access, and fosters interprofessional learning and collaboration across disciplines.
Through our partnership with the Wright Institute's Integrated Health Psychology Training Program (IHPTP), an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited internship program and formal postdoctoral program, we serve as a clinical training site for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology trainees. These trainees gain hands-on experience in primary care behavioral health, working alongside medical teams to deliver evidence-based interventions that improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction. This collaboration prepares the next generation of healthcare professionals to function effectively across disciplines and to address the complex needs of our patients in the community.
